A joint venture from two Atlanta-based design firms, The Glenn Hotel offers southern charm amid spaces accented with Georgia marble and local heart pine floors Earth tones prevail throughout the hotel's interiors. The hotel has two private boardrooms for meetings and special events. The on-site restaurant, BED Atlanta (short for beverage, entertainment and dining), serves up an attitude of relaxation: slippers are proffered for diners as they enter the restaurant and are led to traditional tables or platform beds. The restaurant is an off-shoot of BED restaurants in Miami and New York. Typical fare includes pan-seared foie gras on a pedestal of scallops and Lobster Santos, Caribbean lobster and baked pineapple, celery and tomatoes with coconut cashew ginger sauce. Guests can enjoy libations on BED's rooftop al fresco terrace bar with views of downtown Atlanta's architectural gems.
Business travelers can similarly revel in modernity: guestrooms come equipped with the latest in fiber-optic technology, Herman Miller Aeron chairs and large work desks. The 93 rooms and 16 suites complement the hotel's public spaces with plush, uniquely made rugs in warm, soothing colors. The bathrooms are a focal point, featuring a shower with both a "rain flowing" showerhead and hand-held water source, and a "peek-a-boo" window so that guests can view the plasma television in the bedroom.
